I was interested to read Pure Slaughter Value after reading your article, it’s practically impossible to get hold of here in the UK.

I imagine it’s tough to find anywhere. Likely out of print, which is a shame. You could probably find it used but not sure where you’d look.

Rob was a classmate of mine in the MFA program at Columbia and would workshop parts of what became PURE SLAUGHTER VALUE. He was always nice to me but I couldn’t help but be intimidated by him.

This was a great piece and it made me wonder if you've ever read Monkeys by Susan Minot or Spoiled by Caitlin Macy, two story collections by women writers who also capture the gestalt of a Tina Barney photograph with their words.

Pure Slaughter Value is great and your descriptions are right on the money. From what I gather he overdosed after a Lemonheads show.
